Supreme court of appeals elects new chief justice

In the 19th round of voting, the Supreme Court of Appeals yesterday elected a new chief justice to succeed the retired Osman Arslan. Hasan Gerceker, former head of the Supreme Court of Appeals 9th Criminal Chamber, was elected to the post. The head of the court serves a four-year term.
