1.9 billion year old soil discovered by Turkish scientist

Professor Ali Polat, an academic at the Faculty of Science of the Canada Windsor University, has discovered 1.9 billion year-old soil around Lake Superior in Canada as a result of nearly five-year studies. Polat said that the red igneous rocks were actually 1.9 billion years old soil. Polat's discovery was published in the October edition of the Chemical Geology magazine in 2012.
