A delegation from parliament and business circles to travel to France

Parliament's Foreign Relations Commission Chairman Volkan Bozkir and the accompanying delegation, as well as officials from the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) and Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) are set to hold contacts in Paris today and tomorrow, prior to a vote on the bill penalizing the denial of Armenian genocide claims which is expected to take place on December 22.  The delegation will firstly meet with French Parliament's Foreign Relations Commission Chairman Axel Poniatowski. Afterwards, the delegation will hold contacts with Pierre Moscovici, an important figure from the Socialist Party, Michel Diefenbacher, chairman of the Turkish-French Friendship Group and a member of the ruling Union for a Popular Movement, Jean-David Levitte, diplomatic advisor to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Alain Juppe, Foreign Minister, as well as Bernard Accoyer, French Parliament Speaker. Furthermore, the Turkish businessmen delegation to be chaired by TUSIAD Chairman Umit Boyner and TOBB Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu will exert efforts to convince French businessmen to reject the bill. Turkish businessmen will also meet with representatives from the Movement of French Enterprises (MEDEF), International Chambers of Commerce and Paris Chambers of Commerce.
