Ahmadinejad: "Turkey and Brazil should have a seat in Iranian nuclear talks"
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad yesterday said that his country is ready to negotiate a nuclear fuel swap with major world powers based on last month's deal brokered by Turkey and Brazil. Stating that they had postponed nuclear negotiations for several weeks in protest of recently passed UN sanctions on Iran for its nuclear program, Ahmadinejad urged that Turkey and Brazil be included in nuclear talks that would take place between Iran and the France-US-Russia trio under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In related news, British Prime Minister David Cameron called Turkey a key regional player. Speaking at Parliament upon his return from a G-20 meeting in Toronto, which Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also attended, Cameron talked about the role Turkey plays in both the Iranian nuclear issue and the Middle East peace process. "Turkey is a country that can play a key role in making progress towards solving the Iranian nuclear issue," he said.
