Aliyev to pay first official visit to Turkey

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, who won a third five-year term with nearly 85 percent of the votes in Wednesday's presidential election, will pay his first official visit to Turkey. Aliyev said Prime Minister Erdogan was the first political figure to congratulate him on his election victory and added that the close relationship with Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul provided the basis for enhancement of bilateral ties. Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) said the election process was fair and transparent.
