Alper wins Caligari Prize and first feature special mention at Berlin Film Festival
Turkish filmmaker Emin Alper's 'Tepenin Ardi" (Behind the Hill) has won the Caligari Prize, as well as the First Feature Special Mention at the 62nd Berlin Film Festival. Alper was presented the award in a special ceremony over the weekend. The film, which was described as a 'modern western movie from Turkey" by the jury has received greatly positive feedbacks, Alper said in an interview. The Caligari Prize has also been presented to Nuri Bilge Ceylan, another renowned filmmaker from Turkey, in 1998.
