Ankara welcomes Jurdish leaders, soldifies dialogue with the region

Nechirvan Barzani, the co-chairman of northern Iraq's Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), was received by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu yesterday in Istanbul. During the meeting, Davutoglu stressed the importance of a positive atmosphere between Turkey and northern Iraq and underlined the significance for Turkey of a swift government formation in Iraq. Barzani's visit, during which he also met Turkish businessmen and asked them to invest in the region, was mainly to boost economic relations between Turkey and northern Iraq.
