Turkey and Iran have to forge an alliance and support each other in order to solve regional problems and preserve global peace, said Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc yesterday. Speaking in Tehran, where he was to attend the Second International Nevruz Celebrations, Arinc said he spoke with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad about regional matters and how Turkish-Iranian relations can be strengthened. "We believe we have to form an alliance in order to preserve global peace and solve regional problems," said Arinc. "We want to promote our ties in all areas and make them as strong as relations between our parliaments and governments."
