Armenian oud player to become cultural envoy

Oud player Yervant Bostanci, who returned to his hometown Diyarbakir after 21 years, will be a cultural envoy for Turkey. Upon an invitation by the Culture and Tourism Minister Omer Celik, Bostanci left America. Bostanci said that he received an offer to be a cultural envoy and reflect brotherhood from his hometown to the world with his music, adding that he was met with great enthusiasm by the Culture and Tourism Undersecretary Nihat Gur and his advisor Ibrahim Saritas. "Minister Celik said he would give me tasks related to culture and I accepted with pleasure", Bostanci said noting that he was not a politician but an artist with his oud and voice.
