In an exclusive interview to Turkiye daily, Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn said that the EU needed Turkey very much. "Turkey is a key country in the region. If EU wants to become a global actor, it would need Turkey. Otherwise it would be lost," Asselborn said. He added the world has witnessed a great many significant developments, and Turkey became stronger and gained great growth potential in parallel to those changes. "When I look at Turkey, I see enormous cooperation opportunities. Establishing cooperation with Turkey is to serve the interests of us and future generations as well. The contributions made by Turkey’s foreign policies into regional developments are vitally important," Asselborn said, adding that Turkey is not only a shining market, but also an important political actor in the region.
