Baghdad ties continued economic cooperation to changes şn Turkish water policy
Turkey's restriction of water flows along rivers through to Iraq is "unacceptable," and the two countries must sign an agreement to regulate it, a Baghdad spokesman said on Tuesday. "We will use all of our diplomatic ties with Turkey to guarantee Iraq's water share," Ali al-Dabbagh told a news conference. "Minimizing Iraq's water share is unacceptable and, up to now, we have not signed an agreement on economic collaboration with Turkey. Parliament will not approve a strategic cooperation council with Turkey until Turkey agrees to sign an agreement with Iraq about water."
