Bagis: A bright new future is ahead for Turkey

Commenting on the reform package revealed yesterday by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis noted that the reform package was a revolution for Turkish democracy. "The package presents solutions to a number of well-rooted problems in Turkey. This can be regarded as one of the masterpieces of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in its third term in power." Underlining the dynamism of the process, Bagis said the reforms revealed yesterday were not the ultimate reforms to be made in Turkey. "We will pave the way for many democratic practices and many more are yet to come in the near future," Bagis concluded.
