Bagis attends a round table meeting at Bilgi University

Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis yesterday attended a round table meeting entitled "Opportunities and Challenges: Europe" which was organized by the Platform for Global Challenges in Istanbul's Bilgi University. During the meeting, which was also attended by Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson, Bilgi University lecturer Professor Deniz Ulke Aribogan and Bilgi University Rector Professor Remzi Sanver, Turkey's role in global arena and membership talks with the EU were discussed. Speaking at the meeting, Carlsson said that Turkey's EU accession would make great economical contributions both to Turkey and EU-member countries. Following the meeting, Bagis and Carlsson had Turkish coffee together. "We have a tradition of Turkish coffee fortune telling here. Accordingly, I see Turkey's full EU membership in my cup of coffee," Bagis said.
