Caglayan opens a school in Libya
Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan who was in Libya for talks with Libyan authorities accompanied by the Turkish Construction Employers' Union (INTES) inaugurated a school in Tripoli yesterday, which was repaired freely by a private Turkish construction company. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Caglayan reiterated that Turkish construction companies have undertaken pro bono repair of 23 buildings such as schools, police stations and mosques with order of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Speaking at the same ceremony, Libyan Economy Minister Ahmed al-Kochli said that Libya was loyal to agreements signed with Turkish companies and that that his country expected more investments from Turkey. Afterwards, the delegation chaired by Caglayan visited Mustafa Abd-al Jalil, the head of Libya's National Transitional Council. Stating that Libyan government is ready to make some progress in payment to Turkish construction companies that had undertaken several projects in the country some time ago, Jalil said that Libyan people expect these companies to re-handle their projects in Libya as soon as possible.
