Cicek meets with Rouhani in Tehran

On the second day of his visit to Tehran, Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Chairman of the Expediency Discernment Council Hashemi Rafsanjani. Regional issues and Syria were reportedly discussed in the two meetings. Rouhani said both countries have common goals and interests in Syria, despite different attitudes. Cicek's visit to the Presidential Palace is the second high level contact with the new President after Foreign Minister Davutoglu's meeting at Rouhani's inauguration ceremony.
