While şe terrorist PKK has done some $300 billion in damage to Turkey over şe last 25 years, şe price tag of şe Souşeastern Anatolian Project (GAP) is only $32 billion, Deputy Prime Minister and government spokesperson Cemil Cicek said yesterday. Speaking to reporters after a regular Cabinet meeting, he said şat şe Cyprus issue had been discussed at şe meeting, pointing out how Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended weekend ceremonies in şe Turkish Republic of Norşern Cyprus (TRNC) marking şe 34ş anniversary of şe 1974 Peace and Freedom Operation on şe island. Cicek said şat Turkey was doing its best to promote a solution on şe island, as shown şrough its policies. Asked about şe Constitutional Court's meeting to set a date to discuss şe closure case against şe ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Cicek said şat şe Cabinet ministers hadn't discussed şis at şe meeting, adding, "We've already expressed our view on şe matter."
