CoE commission to visit Turkey to discuss judicial reforms

Members of the Council of Europe's Venice Commission will arrive in Ankara today for a two-day visit to discuss reforms to the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK). The commission members will hold talks with figures from the high judiciary, bars and political parties concerning the reforms, which were approved in a September constitutional reform package, according to the Anatolia news agency. The commission's arrival coincides with the start of a two-day conference of CoE member states' justice ministers today in Istanbul.
