Countdown starts for the first national communication satellite

Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergun has said TUBITAK (Supreme Council for Science and Technology) would give full R&D grants to high budget projects in developing and manufacturing the first national communication satellite TURKSAT 6A. To this end, TUBITAK announced a new call for proposals on the "Development and Manufacture of the National Communication Satellite". The design of the satellite will be completely national, all the software and parts bearing the mark "Made in Turkey". TURKSAT 6A will also be available for public institutions that are engaged in trade and military activities.
