Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu attended the 49th International Munich Security Conference on Sunday. In a speech at the conference, Davutoglu said that the psychology of the Middle East and some other regions should be understood well as their regimes had been changing for the first time since 1950-60s. Davutoğlu also called on the UN to take steps to increase the amount of humanitarian aid provided to Syrians. Underlining that two million people in Syria do not have houses and they are hungry, Davutoglu said that Turkey has sent 40 tons of humanitarian aid to Aleppo and would continue to send, adding, "Turkey spent $500 million for Syrian refugees. We will continue to do this for our Syrian brothers and sisters when they are needy. The UN should take some steps too for humanitarian aid." Furthermore, Davutoglu welcomed Qatar and Saudi Arabia's taking initiatives about the Syria issue. Touching on Iran's nuclear program, Davutoglu said that talks should be carried out by 5+3, not 5+1, and Turkey and Saudi Arabia should be included in these meetings.
