Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu delivered a lecture entitled "Changing Turkish Foreign Policy in Changing World" at the 48th annual meeting of Ditchley Foundation in Britain. Stating that the problems that Turkey had with Syria today stemmed not from Turkey, but from Turkey, Davutoglu said, "In order to guarantee zero-problem with Syria in the future, we have problems with Syria today. If Turkey had friendly relations with Bashar al-Assad today, then the post-Assad regime would not have friendly ties with Turkey." Stating that he has held a seven-hour meeting with al-Assad and agreed on a 14-article plan, Davutoglu said that he has complied with the plan for only three days. "Afterwards, we understood that he used his relations with Turkey for his own rescue," Davutoglu added. Davutoglu also underlined that Turkey would keep working regarding Syria and that the international community should have solidarity with Syrian people.
