During yesterday's International Somalia Conference in London, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu claimed that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has turned Syria into an open air prison. Touching upon the situation in Syria, Davutoglu said that 69 countries have been invited to the "Friends of Syria" meeting to be held in Tunisia today, but that Assad's government would not be invited. "The subject to be addressed here is the massacres carried out by Assad's regime. If they were to listen, they would have listened to us at Damascus" Davutoglu said, adding that they will listen to the Syrian opposition during the meeting and also address the Arab League plan. Davutoglu who has welcomed the possibility of opening of a humanitarian aid corridor in Syria refused to talk about demands of the Syrian opposition for arms. Davutoglu also said the second round of meeting was planned to be made in Turkey.
