Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu emphasized the importance of bringing together Presidents Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan and Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan at yesterday's trilateral summit at a time when the tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan has increased. Speaking to the Financial Times, Davutoglu said that the two meetings came at a critical time because of clashes between Kabul and Islamabad. The news story entitled "Ankara tries to bolster fight against Taliban" wrote, "Turkey is bringing together leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan in an attempt to reduce tensions that Ahmet Davutoglu, Ankara's foreign minister, says could complicate efforts to end the war against the Taliban," adding that Davutoglu said that if we wanted to establish peace in Afghanistan, there were inescapable countries which should be definitely involved in the process, and that stability in Afghanistan means regional stability, and instability in Afghanistan means regional instability.
