Turkey will take every step necessary to realize security, peace and stability in the Balkans, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said yesterday, pointing to Turkey's efforts to make the Balkans a region of stability, prosperity, and security. "When we look at the leaders of the Balkans, we see that almost all its presidents are professors with strong intellectual backgrounds," he said. "Perhaps the Balkans has Europe's most intellectual leaders. This provides an opportunity. A very positive relationship was formed among them. We're very hopeful about the future of the Balkans." Asked if Turkey would act as a mediator between Serbia and Kosovo, Davutoglu said it will do whatever is necessary.
