Davutoglu receives Norwegian delegation
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu yesterday met with a delegation of Parlaiment members, led by Ine Eriksen Soreide, Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Norwegian Parliament. The meeting at the Foreign Ministry residence in Ankara was closed to the press. According to information received, Davutoglu said during the meeting that relations between Turkey and Norway have developed, and that he expected Norwegian King Harald and Queen Sonja to visit Turkey. Stating that the two countries are in cooperation in a great many international platforms including NATO, Davutoglu said that both Turkey and Norway shared parallel stances with regard to multilateral diplomacy and meditation issues such as the Middle East, Balkans and Syria. Speaking for her part, Soreide said that they were willing to further develop inter-Parliamentary relations between the two countries. Soreide added that they have visited the Syrian refugees' camps in Turkey's southeastern town of Kilis, and appreciated the aid extended by Turkey to Syrians.
