Davutoglu thanks four EU FMs for writing pro-accession newspaper column

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu over the weekend thanked four of his European Union member state counterparts for co-writing a column last week arguing for the wisdom of Turkey's EU accession. Davutoglu telephoned British Foreign Secretary William Hague and sent SMS's to Carl Bildt and Alexander Stubb, Sweden and Finland's foreign ministers, for writing "Europe Look Outward Again" for The New York Times and its International Herald Tribune affiliate on the eve of an EU summit this week. Davutoglu said that he will call Italy's foreign minister as soon as possible to thank him as well.
