Though diplomatic relations remain dismal, trade between Turkey and Israel has reached a new high. According to the Jerusalem Post, trade between Turkey and Israel last year reached $3.5 billion, a historic high, and continued to rise for the first two months of 2011. The newspaper said Israel has no replacement planned for Ambassador to Turkey Gabby Levy, whose posting ends this summer, but added, "Commercial interests are trumping the political divide."
