Director Refig passes away

Prominent film director Halit Refig yesterday died at the age of 75, at Istanbul's Memorial Hospital where he had been undergoing cancer treatment. He directed his first movie, "Forbidden Love," in 1960. He made about 60 films, including features, documentaries and TV series. His films represented Turkey at various festival and shows abroad. He won many awards, including Best Director at the 1964, 1989 and 1990 Golden Orange Film Festival.
