EBRD, Turkey sign sustainable energy action plan
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has cemented its support for Turkey's efforts to promote energy efficiency investments with the launch of a Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP). In a memorandum signed Tuesday between the Treasury Undersecretariat and the EBRD, both sides expressed their intention to implement measures to build a more energy-efficient economy and strengthen Turkey's competitiveness through the use of green technology. "Supporting sustainable energy investments is a central element of our overall strategy and a key focus of our activities in Turkey," said Michael Davey, the EPRD's director in Turkey. "SEAP will help facilitate real improvements in energy efficiency and the increased use of renewable energy through targeted initiatives developed in close cooperation with the Turkish government."
