Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that what was given to Iran for gas did not matter; even potatoes could be given, reiterating that they have reached an agreement with the US on Iran. Speaking to reporters Yildiz stated that officials have completed talks with US officials before December 3. "We said that 'if you tell us not to buy gas from Iran, it will not be a sanction against Iran, but against us.' They have agreed not to include natural gas deals into sanctions," Yildiz said. Commenting on cash transfer, Yildiz said that the Energy Ministry only cared about natural gas supply. "Tupras and BOTAS make payment to relevant parties in TL and dollars, respectively; then the money is carried forward. Nothing else matters for us. Whatever is given for natural gas does not matter us; we can even give potatoes," Yildiz added.
