In his monthly address to the Turkish people, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that rumors and speculations over the ongoing peace process should not be credited and that the government would not take any steps that have not been approved by the people. Referring to the peace process aimed at resolving the Kurdish issue in Turkey, Erdogan said, "I want you to believe that this government will not take any step outside the national interest and legal framework," Erdogan said. Erdogan also described the risk taken by his Justice and Development Party (AKP) as walking on fire, saying that they are aware that any false step could hurt the responsibility they had on their shoulders.
