Erdogan awarded honorary doctorate by Shanghai international studies university

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has been in China for the past week, ended his visit on Wednesday with his last stop being Shanghai, where he was awarded honorary doctorate by Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). In a speech made during the Turkish delegation's visit to the university, Rector Deming Cao said China and Turkey were old civilizations with a long history and that both cultures have made great contributions to the development of mankind, emphasizing the importance of links between peoples and especially young people to perpetuate the strengthening of ties between the two countries. For his part, Erdogan said that he would carry the title as a sign of friendship between Turkey and China dating back to many years.
