Erdogan expresses wish for joint steps in global fight against terrorism

Speaking during a meeting between Turkish and Danish government delegations, led by him and his Danish counterpart Thorning-Schmidt, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that they have discussed the Syria issue and relations between Turkey and Syria as well. "I was pleased to learn from my Danish counterpart that Denmark has taken legal steps in the fight against the separatist terrorist organization. My wish is that we take joint steps in the global fight against terrorism immediately," Erdogan said, adding, "I also expressed my gratitude to Denmark as it sent military experts while Patriot defense systems were being installed in Turkey. I especially would like to thank for the support to Turkey's EU membership process." Stating that the annual bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached $1.7 billion by the end of 2012, Erdogan said that this could climb to $5 billion by the end of 2015. For her part, Schmidt said that there were very sound relations between Turkey and Denmark and the commerce and investments between the two countries were increasing each day. Schmidt added said that they envisaged increasing Denmark's exports to Turkey by 50 percent till 2016.
