Erdogan meets his Somali counterpart

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Somali counterpart Abdiweli Muhammed Ali held bilateral meetings in Ankara yesterday. Speaking in a joint press conference, Erdogan said that Turkey’s activities in Somalia and what the two countries could do together in the upcoming period were discussed in their bilateral meetings.  Erdogan also reiterated that the 2nd Somalia Conference would kick off tomorrow in Istanbul, adding that the conference will be held in close cooperation with the United Nations. For his part, Ali said that his country which is a strategic partner of Turkey would like to expand short-term relations between the two countries to a longer term.
