Erdogan to boost bilateral ties in Spain

Speaking to reporters prior to departing for Madrid, Spain, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey's relations with Spain would be further developed thanks to the the Turkey-Spain Intergovernmental Summit to be held in Madrid. Erdogan reiterated that bilateral trade between Turkey and Spain amounted to 8 billion Euros in 2011, saying that the amount of trade decreased by 10 percent this year due to the effects of crisis, but that this situation could be immediately resolved. Erdogan also said that the investments made by Spanish companies in Turkey have surpassed 7 billion Euros and that he would meet with CEOs of Spanish companies currently investing in or with a potential to invest in Turkey. Erdogan reiterated that Turkish people have some initiatives in Spain as well.
