Erdogan urges reform in top UN security body

Speaking at a meeting with the representatives of Turkish and Muslim communities in San Francisco, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday issued a strong call for reform in the United Nations Security Council. Stating that all members of the Security Council should be temporary and they should be rotating once a year or two, Erdogan said that there should be representatives of all continents and religions in the council. "Today, the destiny of Syria is in the hands of two countries, and Syria cannot be intervened in. Can you believe that so far nearly 100,000 people have been killed, and 283 missiles have been launched on them. Planes keep bombing and tanks keep coming at people. Only in my country, currently 300,000 Syrians are staying," said Erdogan.
