EU funds to Turkey increase
European Union Funds, which are provided by the EU to Turkey, will have reached an overall total of 4.9 billion Euros by the end of 2013. According to the EU Turkey Delegation, the amount of EU funds to Turkey has increased since 2005. EU funds to Turkey, which had been 50 million Euros in 1996, had risen to 782 million Euros in 2011. The EU provided the greatest financial assistance in the area of regional development, with a 1.7 billion euro investment expected between 2007 and 2013. EU funds revive regional cooperation and contribute to reducing poverty, while increasing sustainable development.
