EU term president Sweden supports Turkey's membership

Swedish Ambassador to Ankara Chirister Asp, whose country just took over the European Union term presidency for six months, said yesterday that his country's support will continue until Turkey joins the bloc. Stating that if Turkey fulfills the necessary conditions, Sweden would be ready to open all chapters with Turkey, Asp added that the new Kurdish-language TRT-6 channel was a welcome positive step which could help dispel tensions and problems on minority rights.
