Export champions of 2011 awarded by Turkish exporters' assembly
An award ceremony was held yesterday to announce export champions of 2001 which was also attended by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan and Turkey's Exporter's Assembly President Mehmet Buyukeksi. Speaking on the sidelines of ceremony, Caglayan reiterated that the world trade volume increased nearly 2.7 fold to reach $18.3 trillion nine years ago, while Turkey's exports increased nearly 4 fold to $135 billion and Turkey's share in world trade rose to 0.75 percent from 0.50 percent. Noting that the government had established a incentives scheme to pave the way for producing and exporting high value added and high technology products, Caglayan said that the incentive scheme was on the parliament's agenda and that it would be likely to be approved this week.
