Fatih mayor receives award from Harvard University

Istanbul's Fatih Mayor Mustafa Demir was granted the e-Governance award by Harvard University over the weekend in the US. The Fatih mobile application within the Urban Information System which has enabled Demir to win an award has also ranked the first in a competition organized by the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) and Turkey's Communication Foundation in December 2011. Speaking at the award ceremony, Demir made a presentation entitled "An Example to Successful Applications of Information Technologies in Local Governments," saying that comprehensive information with regard to the district of Fatih could be accessed online, which enables saving of time and resources.
