Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu yesterday received three US congressmen led by Ed Whitfield, the co-chair of the US House of Representatives' Turkish Friendship Group. Before the meeting, Davutoglu spoke positively about the return to the US of Turkish Ambassador to Washington Namik Tan, after being recalled to Turkey following a US House panel's passage of a so-called Armenian "genocide" resolution, as well as Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attending an April 12 nuclear summit in the US. Stating that his recent telephone conversation with his US counterpart Hillary Clinton had done much to address his concerns, Davutoglu said Turkish-US relations are now moving in a positive direction.
