Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is set to visiting Iran next week to help broker a diplomatic solution to the international tension over Iran's nuclear program. At a joint press conference yesterday alongside visiting Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland, Davutoglu said that negotiations on Iran's nuclear program are ongoing and that Turkey is working hard to find a solution to the issue. "There is an ongoing, dynamic process," he added. "Statements by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki gave positive developments a chance to continue. We believe diplomatic means should be used to prevent new tensions in the region and make the region one of stability and prosperity."
