Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu is set to pay an official visit to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Wednesday. As part of his visit, Davutoglu will open the Sarajevo Mevlevihane (dervish lodge) which was constructed within the framework of two sister municipalities, namely, Selcuklu and Stari Grad of Sarajevo. The Sarajevo Mevlevihane has been reconstructed in cooperation with the Selçuklu Municipality and Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA). Stating that historical, cultural and social ties between Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina have been maintained throughout history, Selcuklu Mayor Ugur Ibrahim Altay said that they have signed a sister city protocol with the Stari Grad Municipality of Sarajevo in order to strengthen those ties.
