Fule and Demirtas meet in Brussels

Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule on Tuesday met with co-chair of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Selahattin Demirtas in Brussels. Speaking after the meeting, Fule said that he considered the BDP as an important and constructive stakeholder in the peace process and in the continuation of reforms. For his part, Demirtas said that the fact that Turkey was trying to find a political solution to terrorism problem was supported in Europe. Referring to Turkey's process of preparing a new constitution, Demirtas said that a new constitution was both the right and expectation of each citizen, adding that EU, as well, cared about the new constitution in terms of improving the relations with Turkey.
