Greek Foreign Minister reacts over gas issue

Greece is not afraid of any threats posed by Turkey in its recent remarks regarding the dispute over natural gas exploration in Mediterranean waters off Cyprus, Greek Defense Minister Panos Beglitis has said. Turkey’s statements about the natural gas exploration efforts of Greek Cypriots show its understanding of international law, Greek daily Ethnos, quoted Beglitis as saying. “We watch the developments with our necessary strategy and determination,” said Beglitis adding that Turkey’s reaction shows what it understands of the peaceful coexistence and coordination of states. Beglitis also said Turkey’s reaction might cause regional tension.
