Green Party members condemn neo-Nazi murders
Canan Bayram, Susanna Kahlefeld and Turgut Altug, Green Party members of the Berlin State Parliament, held a meeting yesterday on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Turkish labor migration to Germany. Speaking at the meeting, Green Party Co-chair Claudia Roth said that neo-Nazi murders of Turkish immigrants cast a shadow upon the 50th anniversary celebrations. "They were killed merely for their ethnic origins and different cultures. Those murders are an earthquake on our democracy," said Roth. Stating that murders should be fully solved, Roth said that Germany had a multicultural democracy, but failed to develop a multicultural democracy. Speaking in his part, Green Party Co-chairman Cem Ozdemir said that neo-Nazi murders should be investigated in detail following the gross neglect carried out by the state.
