President Gul expressed his happiness to be with his fellow townsmen on this occasion and lauded the Society for its activities since it was established 60 years ago and remembered its founders and the philanthropists of Kayseri who passed away with gratitude. "Kayseri with its four universities, two of which are public, is one of the most developed and industrialized provinces of the country. Besides, it has already started to seize the benefits of high technology. As for Mount Erciyes, I believe it will draw more attention from the world for tourism in the future," Gul said. After his speech, Gul presented plaques to those who contributed to the organization. Attending the occasion were also National Education Minister Omer Dincer, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz, Istanbul Governor Huseyin Avni Mutlu and Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbas.
