Gul completes his official visit to the Netherlands

President Abdullah Gul and First Lady, along with Her Majesty Queen Beatrix, yesterday visited the Floriade World Horticultural Expo 2012 in Venlo, and opened the Turkish Garden on the last day of his official visit to the Netherlands. Gul and Queen Beatrix also attended a luncheon which was given in their honor by Limburg Governor Theo Bovens. Afterwards, Gul and Queen Beatrix opened the Central Bank Art Collection exhibition in Maastricht. The opening ceremony was also attended by Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis and Food, Agriculture and Husbandry Minister Mehdi Eker. After touring the exhibition, Gul and Queen Beatrix saluted and shook hands with Turkish and Dutch people who have been enthusiastically welcoming them with flowers and flags in their hands. The exhibition which was opened on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and the Netherlands will stay open until August 29.
