Gul issues message on the passing of Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi

President Abdullah Gul yesterday issued a message on the anniversary of the passing of Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi, expressing belief that Mevlana's ideas which enlighten even today from the 13th century will cover humanity like an umbrella to open the doors of a world free from violence and full of peace. "Summarizing the gist of his life as follows: ‘I was unripe then cooked and later burnt' in a spiritual term, Mevlana declared his death to be his rebirth, serving as a flawless example for all of the humanity. Mevlana's path is the road of peace, love and amity. He showed the solution of the problems rising from intolerance to the whole world centuries ago. Therefore, I wholeheartedly believe that Mevlana's ideas which enlighten even today from the 13th century will cover humanity like an umbrella to open the doors of a world free from violence and full of peace," Gul noted.
