Gul receives Erdogan as part of weekly ordinary meeting

President Abdullah Gul yesterday received Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has been recovering after a second bout of abdominal surgery last weekend, in his office at the Tarabya Mansion in Istanbul. Reportedly, Gul and Erdogan discussed the developments in Syria, Turkey's stance on the issue and a nuclear summit to be held in Istanbul in their weekly ordinary meeting, after which Erdogan proceeded to his residence in Uskudar, Istanbul. Speaking on Erdogan's health, Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy leader Huseyin Celik said yesterday that Erdogan was in good health and that he would proceed to Ankara next week.
