Gul receives prominent figures at Presidential Palace

President Abdullah Gul yesterday received Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel and Turkish Intelligence Organization (MIT) Undersecretary Hakan Fidan at the Cankaya Presidential Palace as part of the weekly ordinary meetings. The agenda of the meetings focused on repercussions of the democratization package in the region, PKK's efforts to boost its communication and movement capability, developments in Syria and a possible missile deal with China. Afterwards, Gul received Rwanda's Ambassador to Ankara Caezar Kayizari, who presented his letter of credence to the President. Ambassador Kayizari had been serving as Chief of General Staff prior to being appointed to his new post.
